Hi Sarah! Do you have time to chat a little about these ideas? I have three burning questions for you:
1) Do you think Rosa Parks is an example of someone who pulled off both effective activism AND intellectual honesty? If so, do you think she's just an "exception that proves the rule"? If not, where do you think I went wrong?
2) What do you think of the question I ask in the footnote comparing yours and Coleman Hughes' takes on Black Lives Matter activism? Do you think that there's a relationship between accomplishing activism quickly and lax ethics (is this a pattern we see in other historical examples)?
3) Did you leave ex-Muslims of N. America because you wanted to stop playing the activist game so that you could exclusively play the thinker game?
Thanks so much for giving this a read. If I'm not taking up too much of your time and email is easier than the comments section, my address is megan.gafford@gmail.com
These are good questions and I have a lot of thoughts. I don't mind comments, but let me ruminate a bit and draft something. I think it might be worth a post, or at least, a cross-post. :)
Happy New Year, Sarah! I just wanted to follow up about whether you've had time to compose your thoughts. I'm still dying to know your answers to my questions! I would love to do a cross-post, and I would be happy to do a new drawing for it, too.
Thank you for your thoughtful reflections Megan! (I didn't know about Colvin, so thanks for bringing her to my attention too.)
